Hi there i'm using banshee since i switched to linux on my desktop and i really like it, so keep up the good work! But, Last week i installed it on my laptop, which is running on OpenSuse11.0 with KDE3.5.9, then i tried the command line options like banshee-1 --play or --next.

My solution was to write a little bash script to control the media players using DBus. Right now I have support for Banshee and RadioTray. VLC support should be fairly easy to add, but I haven’t had the motivation to search for documentation on their DBus interface.

Hi, I would like to implement a bit of a hack to get banshee to pause/play when lock/unlock my screen. I am thinking I should be able to do this using the d-bus pretty easily..however have not been able to find out much info regarding how to work with dbus & banshee..If I listen to all signals emitted by the org.gnome.Banshee interface and play / pause (etc) tracks I don't seem be getting ...

Dec 09, 2009 · I just switched from gnome to xfce and xmonad. Everything is wonderful but I've got an issue with banshee. It works, but it doesn't "connect" to dbus, and so I can't set my keybindings to it since if I try to execute something like "banshee-1 --previous" it would open a new banshee istance

Jul 28, 2012 · (the mono daemon, started or not, makes no difference neither). It's really weird, as it worked on my last arch installation. Using another one is not really an option, because of the sync profiles I made for my blackberry, which does not work at all with rhythmbox or any other.
