Mar 30, 2006 · In Sun Microsystems techsupport centers, the configuration of framebuffers, various Xservers, screen resolutions, etc are all supported in the OS software support department. Those issues are not handled by any hardware support engineers. I suggest you consider the Debian support maillists, where others may have more experience with this.
