May 03, 2009 · Looking at pics of the e510, its not an old Dell - but it seems to be very limited in CPU upgradabliltiy. IT SHOULD support Core2. But its not a standard PC... Dell can lock down what CPUs the motherboard can support... as it is, it only supports the SLOWEST of DDR2 RAM. You should be able to replace the CPU cooler fan... those are standard.

Oct 20, 2013 · Hi . I have 64-bit Windows 8 Pro (& Media Centre) installed on my Dell Dimension 5150 (Pentium D 820 running at 2.80GHz). When I followed the link to upgrade to Windows 8.1 the Windows Store app opened but very quickly told me that I couldn't upgrade to 8.1!

It can't be that CPU because the socket is a PPGA478 which only supports DDR (not DDR2), is 32-bit (this is 64-bit) and has no hyperthreading whereas the Pentium 4 in the 5150 does have hyperthreading. Edit: Also that CPU has a maximum temperature of 70°c. It doesn't reach too far off that when idle.

Jul 31, 2016 · I have a DELL Dimension E510 on which I currently run Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I am unable to reserve Win10, because the upgrader tool simply says "The CPU isn't supported" no additional details. My PC has Win7HPSP1/32bit/Intel Pentium D CPU 2.79GHz and 1GB of RAM. That seems to favorably compare with Win10 system requirements.
