Jun 18, 2015 · Hi, I am trying to install a 180 Day trial of Windows Server 2012 x64 on a Dell Poweredge 2850 with a PERC 4e RAID controller. As with most Dell PE servers, you need the Dell Installation and Server management disc before installing the OS, or it will not recognise the RAID volume, or you need a disc/floppy with the driver.

Jan 20, 2016 · Bios is upgraded to latest, we have tried installing 2012 and doing an upgrade, what ends up happening is it reboots after it installs, gets passed the bios screen and then runs on a continuous reboot loop. We also tried installing server 2012 r2 from another machine and just putting the hard drive in it, but to no avail.

May 05, 2016 · I've got a new Dell PowerEdge R520 server ordered up with a Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard OEM license. Unfortunately, I didn't order any media and since it's our first 2012 R2 server, I don't already have a disc. I notice Dell are charging £25 for a "media kit", which is a complete rip off and you can probably only order them with a server.
