May 17, 2011 · We have had HP servers that were DOA though and the support was fairly poor and took several days. This was a few years ago now though so HP may have improved on server support although they definitely haven't on desktop support. I have no reason to believe the Dell servers will be any more or less reliable than HP.

Virtually any server purchased new today will support 64 bit. I suppose it's possible there are a few scattered ones that will not, but virtually all but the ultra-low power chips are going to 64 bit compatible.
