Dec 17, 2015 · These calls, phishing, originate in the Dell Call Center in India. I can not prove it, but I have it on the word of friends working their in New Delhi. When you have an honest transaction thru Dell Technical Service, some rogue computer technical support persons cop your information so they can do these scam phone calls.

Afterwards, I called Dell. That number is a legitimate Dell number. However, I was told by the Dell technician that Dell will only make outbound calls when the customer calls first or to check on the status of a previous tech support issue. She suggested to ask for the most recent case number from Dell from the last time I called Dell tech support.
