Mar 11, 2006 · Is there any DirectShow filters that can work with CoreFLAC to play a .flac file directly (without muxing to MKA)? I mean the "flac version" of aac_parser.ax + CoreAAC combo. Well, illiminable's dsfFLACDecoder.dll plays FLAC via DirectShow, but it is not yet too stable.

Apparently LAV Splitter and LAV Audio are the "best" choices regarding FLAC, WavPack and MLP, for now. In fact, FLAC was created with several deficiencies and design flaws which were avoided by the author of the WavPack compression.

Mar 11, 2014 · It's the "DirectShow Filter" for Ogg and Flac. Now, my Windows Media Player 9 can support both formats, It's pretty cool actually :-) Once that DirectShow Filter was installed, ImgBurn now recognizes and decodes Flac files without any problem. I'm listening to a burned CD as I type this.
