Aug 14, 2008 · Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". ... VMWARE does not give you full hardware acceleration. If you install an OpenGL software emulator package, you could run on it. The application I work on (Autodesk Inventor) does include a software emulation driver for just this situation.

Oct 23, 2003 · Load "glx" in the modules section but the problem still persisted. Could somebody please tell me how to rectify the problem - how do I check whether the GLX extension is actually supported or not. I tried "xdpyinfo" and it doesnt show the GLX extension.

Those messages simply tell you, that your graphics drivers are not installed properly. GLX is the extension of the X11 protocol for making OpenGL work in X11 windows.

I installed the mesa-libgl and lib32-mesa-libgl (I forgot to mention that my system is x86_x64) with the command pacman -Sdd mesa-libg lib32-mesa-libgl and that automatically removes the lib32-nvidia-libgl and nvidia-libgl without problem.
