The Wii 16:9 List - Work in Progress.. Come HALP! - Wii U ...

The aspect ratio of all Wii games are determined by their developer. There isn't a basis as to why or why not games are certain ratios. All Wii channels display natively in 16:9 or 4:3. VC games are all 4:3. Wii Ware games have yet to be released however we can't assume that 16:9 will be standard as even recent Wii releases still come out 4:3 only.

None of the games up-to-date has been designed using the 480p technology. That makes absolutely no sense at all. 480p is simply a display mode. If your TV tells you it's playing a game in 480p, it's playing it in 480p. The Virtual Console games support 480p, for heaven's sake.

Widescreen support in USB Loader GX GBAtemp.net

Aug 19, 2017 · This is what GX looks like. If I load up Alien Soldier, for example, in GX, it will stretch 4:3 to widescreen (looking terrible). This affects *all* games in GX. In vWii, games work just fine in 4:3. On my kids' Wii, GX loads up properly in widescreen. No issues at all.

PS1 games with widescreen? What? NeoGAF

    https://www.neogaf.com/threads/ps1-games-with-widescreen-what.373113/
Sep 04, 2009 · none of these older games support 16x9 natively. there was no concept of a 16x9 signal back when they were made (over rf, composite or super-video cables). even 480p isn't a widescreen format by definition. the game can render with an aspect ratio that makes a 4:3 screen look correct when stretched to 16x9 at 480p (like god of war 1 and 2)...

Wii Games Supporting 480p - Nintendo Console - Neowin

    https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/528093-wii-games-supporting-480p/
Jan 11, 2007 · RE4 for the Gamecube does support 480p, however it does not support 16:9. It's actually odd because the game purposely appears in a "widescreen" format even on 4:3 televisions, however there is no option for widescreen 16:9, so you simply get the same image (with black on the top/bottom) stretched on a widescreen set.
