Nov 08, 2006 · They could continue to add support for the majority of major new cameras, but those of us with large collections of files, from old and unsupported cameras wuld also be catered for. Surely proper DNG support is more important than supporting XY or Z camera. With DNG everything would be supported. Makes sense, does it not?

Jun 21, 2017 · The Baseline DNG support in Aperture 2 and Aperture 3 does not include Linear DNG images. Only RAW DNG is supported. 
 DNG images created by cameras with Foveon sensors are not supported. The image data format with Foveon sensors is very different from that of the Bayer sensors used by most cameras.

Sep 11, 2007 · First off, RAW support is not a function of Aperture. Aperture uses the RAW converter that is part of Core Image. So if a given type of RAW file is supported at all it is supported inPreview, iPhoto and Aperture. So the argument about Aperture only suporting "pro" camera is not quite right. Aperture supports whatever Core Image supports.

Oct 08, 2006 · Aperture will only read DNG files from some camera but not DNG converted. files. I systematically convert all my RAW files into DNG, first as an. insurance (I thought) that these files are manufacturer independent, second. because the lossless compression means smaller files.

Aperture supports DNG, so if Adobe is supporting the camera before Apple, you can download the DNG Converter from Adobe and convert the RAW file to a DNG. This doesn’t always give great results though, and it’s NOT the same as working in RAW in Aperture.
