The adapter gets an IP configuration, and shows as connected, but communication is non-existent or sporadic.

If it was Windows 7 then it's possible the router does not support WPA2-PSK[AES] while Windows 10, like Windows 8 and 8.1 no longer supports WPA-PSK[TKIP]. Check your router Advanced Wireless Setup page. I know how routers and their systems work. My router nd card both supports wpa-psk and also wpa2-psk.

Nov 09, 2012 · you probably do not needto use the atheros utility and update the driver - we have a seen a lot of issues with the AR5007 range of adapter and vista on WPA/WPA2 - and i have include that information and solutions below it maybe worth just using the windows utility (windows zero configuration WZC) and stopping the atheros utility
