Being a DX11 title the only option right now is to use CM mode. I had to remove Bioshock.exe from the original Bioshock profile (not sure why they kept the same .exe name for both the old and remaster) and decided to add Bioshock.exe to the Bioshock Infinite profile. So far the CM mode works fine with no noticeable shader or shadow issues.

Well, you can not run a game whose engine does not support the DX level you want to play in. But lets say they wanted to improve graphics with higher levels of DX, and if they could make it able to use DX11 with the same engine somehow, they would still go for using DX10.

Nov 02, 2009 · First off Bioshock is a DX10 game, meaning you can either run it in DX9 or 10, not DX11. To clearify, even though you may be running a DX11 OS (Windows 7; and now Vista) and have a DX11 video card (ATI 5800 series) the game's code will only allow DX10 extensions (unless they make a patch for the game), thus the game will only run in DX9 or 10.
