I've tried the solution suggested by jamesok and a good few others, none has worked to connect my Philips Sound Hub Home Theatre to my PC via a home hub 2. It all seems to be related to upnp. I can receive Net TV through the system from a dedicated Philips portal but cannot stream data from Media Player on the PC to the TV.

It sounds like you are using a 2wire BT router? If so, it does not support UPnP, however you can open the ports manually from the allow applications pinholes and DMZ mode. The newer BT router (hub 3) does support UPnP. Thanks, Steve

Dec 14, 2014 · Mine's an older Home Hub as in ADSL rather than FTTC (very rural) for now. For port forwarding you need to configure the network section of the AppConfig.xml file, set uPnP to 0, where is says port=0 set the 0 to a number between 49152 and 65535. Then forward this port to your PC. This seemed to solve 99% of our instancing problems.

Re: Upnp, dnla and file sharing broken by home hub 5... Lots of us do have the same problems, and as gg points out, they are caused by BT seeming to think their responsibility stops at the homehub's internet input, and not providing many of the most basic home networking functions within the homehub.

Was a slightly (OK overly ) emotive last post but just hope someone from BT is looking at HH3 firmware/upnp etc. Spent yet another morning of DMZing, port forarding, enabling, disabling firewalls etc but still no joy.
