Instead it just returns the CGI's internal binary code. I've contacted GoDaddy support, but it seems they don't have a clue. So maybe someone has had a similar issue and can give me some suggestions to solve this. BTW: the PHP version runs ok on the server.

Aug 19, 2016 · The reason for this runaround is that GoDaddy provides only native CGI support for old versions of Python we can't use, so we must use our virtual environment. While we cannot use that directly in the CGI scripts, we can fortunately run a shell script and invoke it manually. The mod_rewrite rule just ensures all traffic goes through Django.

The more I research GoDaddy, the more I see that support for new technology has been a continual issue for you. ASP.Net Core was released on 6/27/2016. I may be partially understanding of your inability to update in a timely manor, however being half a year into it and still have no official plan is inexcusable.

I setup one account there specifically to test Perl/CGI capability for a customer who had names registered there and wanted to "get into it cheap" --- it was 48 hours of loop-de-loop finger pointing blah blah non-support.
