Aug 16, 2007 · Bengbeng as far as I am aware a 720p/1080i signal requies the cable to be capable of a transfer rate of around 2.23Gps and that 1080p (BR disc) of around 4.4Gps, the hdmi 1.3 versions requires a bandwidth of 10.2Gps to allows for higher colour bits etc that is in the hdmi 1.3 spec.

Aug 02, 2008 · The distance you can cover with a cheap hdmi cable might be higher for 720p than for 1080p, but in general if some manufacturer 'argues' by it's products or commercials that you need more expensive cables for 1080p in any case no matter how short the distance between the devices he's just trying to cheat you.

My only question is: do the adapters listed on Amazon and Ebay have support for these video modes? Because everywhere I check it says they support 576i/480i/480p, but don't advertise support for other resolutions.

It has to be able to support 720p and higher. Use an HDMI cable or VGA and set it to the monitor's native res because the NXE added support for LCD monitor resolutions.

Dec 07, 2006 · I'm assuming the TV you have is the LN-R3228W mentioned in your signature. The samsung website doesn't have anything to say whether it does or does not support 480i over HDMI, however Crutchfield says it does. You might want to call Samsung and ask if they support 480i over HDMI.
