HP Networking switches do not VTP, that is a proprietary protocol only to Cisco. HP Networking switches do support GVRP which is a standards based way of doing VLAN distribution, but very few Cisco products support GVRP. So, you are basically down to the manual creation of VLANs between the Cisco and HP Networking switches.

Sep 01, 2019 · You don not need to configure VTP (as far as i know, the HP Switches don't support VTP). You should use dot1q encapsulation for the trunk (HP-Switches and some Cisco switches do not support the cisco proprietary ISL encapsulation).

Procurve Line - MVRP Support. I was wondering if HP had any plans to implement MVRP (802.1ak) open standard in newer firmware. It is a replacement for GVRP that is much less resource intensive and faster. It has been a standard since 2005 so I am suprised that it is not supported.

The configuration on the procurve switches should be ok, but what have you done on the cisco router? Port 48 should not tagged to all vlans, only in the vlan where the ip range from the inside interface of the firewall is connected. Did you configure subinterfaces with 802.1q enabled? VTP is a cisco protocoll and is not supportet on procurve switches.
