Dec 14, 2006 · Question: Q: Does the imac support dvd-R (the small discs) I need to put a disc into my mac but it is a small disc and because it is slot loading I am worried it wont like it and then wont be able to eject it. I am always having problems burning movies to disc and generally ejecting discs so i am even more worried to try it! Please help!

Jan 15, 2004 · The Pioneer superdrive is capable of reading/writing to -R,-RW and to +R, +RW. However, I found that the Apple iDVD software could only be used to write to DVD-R/RW and the DVD player would only read DVD-R/RW. I can use Toast 6 and write DVD+R/RW's and they read just fine on my TV/DVD player. The snafu is the Apple software. Hope this helps, Matt

Feb 17, 2005 · OS X is asking you if you want to ignore the CD-R or format the CD-R you just inserted -- that's perfectly normal. To burn an .ISO image to a CD-R, open "Disk Utility" (Applications > Utilities) and then drag the .ISO file into the left-hand sidebar (where the hard drive/drives are listed). It should appear at the bottom of the list.

Mar 21, 2011 · I haven't tried all iMac and eMac models, but I believe some models do not support the "+" standard as I has one eMac that couldn't write to a DVD+R disc. However, I believe Apple did a pretty good job at putting top of the line DVD burners in their computers so I would say you have a fairly good chance of your computer burning a DVD+RW disc.
