Aug 13, 2011 · Not only that, but, there is no decent Lightscribe media at all! Taiyo Yuden doesn't make Lightscribe CD-R's, as far as I know, yet. I wish they'd make one as it's probably the only good quality one that would ever show up as HP and Memorex both use CMC for their Lightscribes.

Feb 02, 2017 · Since HP had discontinued their LightScribe support they never produced such an updated driver. Now this does open a small possibility of being able to install and use the old strictly speaking incompatible driver. You can do this if you chose to deliberately disable the SIP protection.

Slimline drives may not have enough space for a LightScribe logo on the drive tray cover, but a LightScribe logo sticker should be affixed to all LightScribe enabled notebooks. To make sure, the presence of the disc encoder sensor can verify that a drive is LightScribe enabled.

Nov 12, 2007 · If Nero Express defaults to a drive that can't burn Lightscribe, you won't see the Lightscribe burn option. It's pretty straightforward to figure out what to do once you have Nero Express select the correct drive for Lightscribe. If just can't figure it out after what I posted, send me a private message about it.

With a LightScribe enabled drive and special LightScribe media, a disc can be inserted in the drive upside-down and the laser can burn an image and/or text onto the label-side of the disc. If this sounds neat, well, it is! But only if you have the right software, drivers, hardware, and media.
