Aug 03, 2007 · I have decided to wait for OS X Leopard to come out first. I have several external USB hard drives, some of which are formatted in the NTFS file system. From what I have looked up, OS X can read and write to FAT32 drives, but only read (not write) NTFS drives.

Dec 04, 2007 · Leopard (or pretty much any OSX version) supports Reading NTFS out of the box. It's writing that is not supported. There is a new driver that has been discussed here on Mac Forums that gives OSX full Write ability with NTFS also. Do a search for NTFS and it should come up. Think it's called Paragon. Found it for you.

Dec 20, 2007 · VMWARE 1.1.X Does an incredible job of allowing Leopard to write to NTFS. I have XP installed on a separate disk. VMWARE sees it as a boot camp partition and loads it very very fast as a virtual machine. Once into the virtualized environment with XP, just click on the "Fusion button".

The only format that support all of your requirements is ExFAT. It is natively supported by Win7, Lion and Snow Leopard (from 10.6.5, I believe).

May 04, 2010 · While Mac Snow Leopard comes with support for NTFS volumne, it doesn’t really automatically mount it (or provide you a way to mount it) upon booting up. Most people resort to MacFuse and NTFS-3G while others tried various hacks just to get their NTFS partition working in the Finder, with varying success.

Aug 15, 2009 · It didn't work at all. In fact, my NTFS drives wouldn't mount at all so I had to remove it. Removing wasn't simple either because I couldn't access the Preference Pane of MacFUSE because since I have SL, I can't access any 3rd party Preference Panes....

Oct 20, 2009 · I am newly installing NTFS-3G on my system running Snow Leopard. After rebooting there is no NTFS option for formatting in Disk Utility. Only the standard Mac default options and FAT. I uninstalled and re-installed again. Rebooted again with the same result. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Steve
