Feb 14, 2016 · mm, I checked and it only sees the 2.4. need to check again when back at the machine. Ah...you posted the speed of your processor...this has nothing to do with your Wireless connection. All new MacBook Pro's will connect to either the 5GHz band or the 2.4GHz band.

Yes, your MacBook Pro supports 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz but not simultaneously. All Macs manufactured since 2007 with integrated Wi-fi support 802.11 a/b/g/n and and some 2006 Macs support 802.11 a/b/g. Only AirPort Base Station and Time Capsules released in March 2009 or later can operate simultaneously over both bands. Source

Jan 06, 2012 · Just to let others know, I have a Macbook Air and have been able to connect to the DIR-827 using 802.11n only with WPA2-AES on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. The maximum throughput I can get is around 270mb on the 5GHz radio and about 120mb using the 2.4GHz radio.
