Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is a protocol introduced to replace Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) in order to solve the IP Address exhaustion problem. Although IPv4 is still being used, some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) already require setting up IPv6 on the router to activate your Internet connection. IMPORTANT: Not all Linksys routers are IPv6-compliant.

Hello, I'm looking for an updated list of all Linksys routers that have IPv6 settings. I've looked on the Linksys support page and found an article but it doesn't seem to have many of the new routers out there these days. I went to a Best Buy store and the associate said the EA7300 had IPv6 comp...

I have my Linksys AE7300 setup and working fine except that when using IPV6 on the 5Ghz band wifi, my Android is super slow, taking 8-10 seconds to respond when opening apps. I turned off the 5Ghz and connected to my ISP modem 5Ghz with IPV6 and there are no slow downs. Is there something I have to change or is this a problem with the router?

In my Experience IPV6 on the WRT1900ACS V1 with the latest version of firmware does not work at all with BT Infinity IPV6. It does not connect, does not provide any connectivity over IPV6 across BT's network. On the same line using a friends Billion router it works first time. I am finding this more and more to be honest.

For a follow-up story, Cisco stated that "Linksys routers being launched this spring will have IPv6 support" and that the "Linksys E4200 router we launched in January will have an [IPv6] firmware upgrade planned for April." But there's still no word about which, if any, of the zillions of legacy Linksys routers will run IPv6.
