    May 17, 2013 · It doesn't look as like the motherboard has PCI-E 3.0 slots, so I'd assume they are 2.0 slots. but that doesn't mean that you cant use a PCI-E 3.0 video card, video cards are backwards compatible with the 2.0 slot, it'll just mean a slight drop in performance.

    Feb 10, 2012 · pci 3 is backwards compatible with pci 2. the only difference is the bandwidth structure, lots of useless jargon. personally i'd make the switch especially since you'll have a LOT less issues with the 7970. although i know it sucks to ship parts back and wait for new ones... its the best option.
