Also, Adobe and Apple's lack of support for each other's systems also means that more and more of Adobe's applications will have to run on Windows and many of these applications will need to interface to Firewire devices.

Aug 29, 2013 · I am a Parallels 7 User and I couldn't upgrade to version 8 or 9 or whatever without Firewire support. :-(Firewire is the ONLY feature I've ever wanted to have, I do a lot of digital editing and I want to be able to capture from a Firewire device like a Canon XH-A1.

Oct 13, 2016 · So I contacted support again and after 4 hours they told me Windows is no longer going to support the Firewire adapter because it is obsolete. Apple still sells the Thunderbolt Firewire adapter and is supported on Mac, so it is not obsolete. I want to know why Windows will no longer provide an IEEE1394 driver for this device.

Jun 26, 2013 · Parallels does not support firewire. However, the drive is mountable to the Mac OS, and can therefore be shared with the VM as a "Shared Folder", which should give me access to the drive in the VM. There are multiple support threads on this topic, but all of them have failed me.
