Apr 11, 2011 · DSi-enhanced games support WPA. Black and White is DSi-enhanced. The issue is that the game doesn't detect that you're using a DSi if you're playing on a flashcart (it'll play as if you were using a DS lite), so it is incapable to access the DSi features.

If you have a DS lite or older version of the DS, if would have to use WEP because those DS only support WEP. However, the newer DS, such as the DSi, supports WPA (I believe) and thus can connect to wifi through WEP or WPA

Jul 17, 2011 · The original DS and the DS Lite only supports WEP and the DSi, DSi XL and the 3DS supports both WEP and WPA. So if you want to go online on the original DS your router needs to be switched from WPA to WEP. I think Pokemon Black and White also support both WPA and WEP but try anyways when you switch your router to WEP.

Jun 13, 2013 · All Gen 4 Pokemon games are ONLY compatible with WEP, unless you buy accessories to make work with WPA. So even though your 3DS may get access to the internet with WPA wifi, your SoulSilver, along with a lot of the pre-DSi games (including the DS & DS Lite), will only allow access to wifi with WEP or an accessory such as a NWFC USB.

Apr 20, 2012 · No, the DS does not support anything other than WEP encryption unfortunately. It simply will not work with WPA/WPA2. You can either switch your router to WEP temporarily, which is annoying and sounds like not really an option with your roommates, or set up a second connection. There are a few options for doing this.
