The lack of ac is far less annoying than the lack of 5GHz wifi networking though. But my router is dual band so there wont be any problem, but for others their wifi will default back to 2.4 GHZ for all devices if you connect your PS4 through it.

Two things: 1. PS4 does not support 5GHz. If you must, use an ethernet cable. You can also buy a 5GHz Access Point that will connect to your 5GHz Router, and connect the PS4 to the Access Point using an ethernet cable.

I set up a second, older dual band router as a client bridge (or repeater, if you want to use that term) next to my PS4 and wired it. The second router acts as a bridge over the 5ghz wifi band of my main one and the wired connection to the PS4 allows it to take full advantage of the 5ghz band that way.
