I have just bought a Samsung nu8000 and I stream some movies etc from an external drive, the video plays but sound files are not supported. I understand that Samsung no longer support dts sound files but does anyone know how to get round this problem.

DTS 5.1 passthrough via digital optical capability means a TV can accept a DTS 5.1 signal from a source device, and then pass that along to the receiver over a digital optical cable. DTS is pretty much only found on DVDs and Blu-rays, so it’s only useful for those media.

I think it is because Samsung have dropped support for DTS now only Dolby digital. So any files with a DTS soundtrack will have issues. The older Samsung TV's did support DTS. A bit of a backwards step, but looks like Samsung do not to pay DTS royalties. Paul

Samsung tvs are now garbage. No dolby vision, no dts support, do not buy a Samsung tv if you want up to date formats. My Q9FN would 100% go back if it wasn't out of its 30 day no quibble return, 2000 nits is too bright, headache inducing so what's the point of this set?
