Aug 31, 2013 · I did e-mail an editor from one of the major PC mags in the USA, asking if they could find out if the Marvell 9128 passes TRIM commands or not. The response they got from Gigbayte was this: "Marvel SE9128 controller can support TRIM command only with Win7 built-in driver, however, Win7 built-in driver doesn’t support SATA hot plug.

Oct 05, 2018 · UnRAID does not support SSD’s in the array. So your parity and data drives should be standard platter hard drives. The SATA II spec is 300MB/s. But a platter drive cannot reach that speed. So SATA II will be more than adequate for all data/parity drives. Cache drives/pools on the other hand should be set up using SSD’s because of their speed.

Apr 01, 2011 · So basically, given the choice between a driver that gives a tiny bit more performance but does not support trim, versus a slightly less perforimg driver that does support trim, I would choose the slower but with trim support every time in real-life use with SSD's.
