I was considering implementing a queue in every receptor, and any broadcast gets sent to those queues; when the receptor sends out a new packet, it adds that message onto the packet as well, if that makes any sense. But yeah, is there any way to broadcast via TCP, like you can via UDP?
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Multicast-HOWTO-1.html
Multicast is much like radio or TV in the sense that only those who have tuned their receivers (by selecting a particular frequency they are interested on) receive the information. That is: you hear the channel you are interested in, but not the others. 1.2 The problem with Unicast. Unicast is anything that is not broadcast nor multicast.

TCP is true end-to-end. A connection is being established between communicating end systems, and a meticulous book-keeping takes place with respect to bytes sent, received and successfully acknowledged by the receiver. Also mechanisms like congest...

Jul 29, 2009 · Once you have an active TCP connection (socket) between Master and each slave you don't need a "TCP broadcast". Each slave will receive the Modbus RTU broadcast frame regardless of the underlying TCP connection. By the way TCP is and end-to-end protocol and broadcast are not its concern as in the UDP protocol.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcasting_(computing)
In computer networking, telecommunication and information theory, broadcasting is a method of transferring a message to all recipients simultaneously. Broadcasting can be performed as a high level operation in a program, for example broadcasting in Message Passing Interface, or it may be a low level networking operation, for example broadcasting on Ethernet.

I am aware that Azure supports UDP, but does it support UDP broadcast? I am wanting to use the Jenkins Swarm plugin, which requires UDP broadcast for new slaves to join the master.

Mar 04, 2007 · I think that to broadcast you need to use UDP. UDP sends a datagram (like sending a letter) which can be addressed to one ip or may (like junkmail). TCP establishes a connection between two ip address, like making a phone call. You cannot broadcast beyond a local area network because routers block broadcast packets.
