Sep 16, 2011 · The 2850 doesn't support Virtualization. The only 8th generation Dell server with the aility to use it is the PE6850R. The limitation is that the BIOS doesn't support VT (Virtualization Technology) which is why you see the VM staying in Start Up, but never starts. The 9th generation servers all support using Virtualization, but the 8th generations do not.

Yes, it does; it was among the first generation of Dell servers that did. I don't believe any processors that did not support VT were ever an option in a 2900. What processor do you have (for confirmation)? "Where can I set the hypervisor setting?" In the BIOS, under CPU Information, and make sure Virtualization Technology is enabled.

Glashoppah, The 2850 BIOS doesn't support VT. Even with the server running a VT supported processor, the limitation is that the servers BIOS doesn't. The 9th generation Dell servers are the ones that started supporting Virtualization Technologies.
