Dec 12, 2015 · I like the Witcher 1 the best personally despite the two sword trees you need to invest in to keep Geralt strong. Overall, I'd say read a synopsis of the story up to the end of the Witcher 1 (including the books) with the Neutral or Order path (those would be Geralt's most likely chosen based on his character in the books) and start the Witcher 2, which is designed to work with a controller.
