May 17, 2012 · In order for me to use an iPhone 3GS on tmobile, what would I need to do other than buy the iPhone unlocked? There is no such thing in the US as an unlocked iPhone 3GS, at least not an officially unlocked one. Unless the device is being purchased from another country where unlocked 3GS devices are available, it has been hacked to be unlocked.

Apr 29, 2013 · Before T-Mobile added support for the iPhone 5, my data plan was just Edge, but now my iPhone 3GS can use 3G. Does that mean I don't need my iPhone to be unlocked anymore? I'd like it if my phone wasn't jailbroken anymore so that the speed could improve a little. I don't use it for anything else, really, so does my phone still have to be jailbroken?

Re: Does iPhone 3GS work with Tmobile in the US? The 3gs can be unlock to use other gsm carriers but AT&T and Tmobile use different #G frequencies. So people with unlocked iPhones running on Tmobile's network don't get 3G service.
