1080p and 120Hz input over VGA, DVI, HDMI? NotebookReview

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/1080p-and-120hz-input-over-vga-dvi-hdmi.624079/
Nov 12, 2011 · All of the specs above are lower than 120Hz, but they all have max resolutions higher than 1080p, so I think that might compensate. The problem is I don't know how much compensation is needed for 120Hz. Can these cables (VGA, DVI, and HDMI 1.3a) support 1080p and 120Hz input, say to computer monitor or 3DTV?

May 07, 2011 · When HDTVs are advertized as 120hz models, it generally means that they are 120hz internally. I would check the manual to see if it accepts 120hz input (which I doubt).

DisplayPort or DVI for 120hz monitor - EVGA Forums

Jun 13, 2012 · Re:DisplayPort or DVI for 120hz monitor 2012/05/31 03:05:16 (permalink) You are mixing things. D-sub = VGA and has nothing to do with Displayport. Of course you should never use VGA (D-sub) for 120Hz, but Displayport on the other hand should have no issue whatsoever and is basically the successor to DVI.

Sep 28, 2015 · There's more to it than that, though, and HDMI 1.4b simultaneously supports and does not support 1920x1080 at 120Hz. It supports the 120Hz 1080p throughput only for 3D processing, which it does by cloning the data packet for concurrent output to the display device.

    https://www.displayninja.com/which-cable-do-i-need-for-144hz/
Jun 10, 2019 · To output 1080p content at 144Hz, you will need either a Dual-Link DVI, a DisplayPort, or an HDMI 1.4 or higher (though some monitors with HDMI 1.4 are limited to 60Hz or 120Hz) cable. For 144Hz at 1440p, you will need at least an HDMI 2.0 or a DisplayPort 1.2 while for 4K 144Hz you are going to need an HDMI 2.1 or alternatively, a DisplayPort 1.4 which maxes out at 120Hz without …
