You can also get a Sandforce based SSD, since it basically does it on its own... And yeah, all the other rules about SSDs for the other OS's …

Nov 23, 2012 · I also nave TRIM support with that drive under Linux, just by adding some parameters to a text file for that purpose. That way, I don't need to worry about using the Samsung Magician software to optimize the drive from time to time like you'd need to do with Vista.

Feb 23, 2015 · Beware some SSD makers like Crucial don't bundle a software tool for manually TRIMming, make sure the SSD brand and model you get for XP/Vista comes with such a tool. Don't worry, lots of people succesfully run XP from a SSD. If you got a comp with Vista, first plug the SSD into that comp to partition/format it like any HDD.
