Apr 21, 2013 · Etherchannel negotiation,such as PAgP or LACP must be disabled because they are not supported. VMware supports static LAG (or EtherChannel or Port Channel), but not LACP. ... I read some articles of vmware KB, it seems LACP support is new and there are some limitation on LACP.

Change the channel-groups to mode 'on'. If the VMWare NIC supports LACP, then you can use mode 'active'. Your current mode is 'auto' and it expects the other end to have 'desirable' which is Cisco's PAgP.

Jul 11, 2011 · Q2 - lacp and pagp both are same and there is not advantage or lacp over pagp except propraitry .. if you want etherchannel between non-cisco switch , or with server lacp you should user lacp as pagp is cisco propraitry protocol.
