Sep 01, 2016 · Now i decided to switch back to Windows 10 and after the first restart, Windows decided not to boot at all. It froze at the login screen. After 10 minutes of waiting, i decided to change some settings in my BIOS, mainly xHCI and EHCI support to off and Full USB Initialization instead of Half.

I have disabled Legacy USB support in the BIOS and am still working out the XHCI and EHCI Hand-Off settings. For effectively what is identical to Windows 7 x64 setup, what should the XHCI & EHCI settings be set to to enable the ports and resolve the driver issues? Oct 03, 2012 · Well, my x58 bios has a setting to override or what ever ehci handoff for older oses, some kind of replacement. I think since it got enabled, I had at least a dozen bluescreens over the last 2-3 months since for things it shouldn't be.Cooling: Noctua NH-D14/7case fans

Jan 07, 2016 · EHCI is only for operating systems that support the hand-off feature and has nothing to do with support for DOS or before an operating system loads. See page 2-40 and 2-41. USB 3 only works once the OS is installed and the USB 3 drivers even if it's enabled in the BIOS it won't function at USB 3 speeds till the drivers are installed.
