Does in possible to run Cisco IPSEC VPN client on windows 7? Since i dont want to use cisco anyconnect vpn....(as i understand this is just ssl....) How? We have a Cisco ASA 5510 router and are trying to get a couple users setup for VPN access. They are running Windows 7 x64 at home and cannot install the VPN client we have for our router (it only works on 32bit windows). I know there is Cisco AnyConnect, but I am curious if the built in VPN in Windows 7 can work with a Cisco ASA 5510.

I'm looking for a Windows 7 compatible IPSec VPN client that allows protocol and port specific rules as well as an aggressive mode. On Windows XP and Vista we've used SafeNet SoftRemote in which you can set up rules for specific protocols and ports. But SoftRemote isn't compatible with Windows 7.

Jul 22, 2018 · Having a real tough time getting Windows 7 machines connect to my Draytek Vigor 3900 VPN. I know it's not an issue with blocked ports or firewall issues as all of the computers using W10 connect to the VPN no problem however W7 machines can never connect. I connect by using the Draytek Smart VPN client which also does the registry changes.
