When the BIOS boot mode is configured for UEFI, the Microsoft hotfixes may cause the windows 7 installer to fail. When installing Windows 7 on these systems for UEFI boot mode, do not add these KBs to the install media. They are not required as the BIOS and storage drivers support PCI-E storage pass through. The storage drivers will need to be (F6) preloaded.

Jul 29, 2017 · When I get to the point in the Windows 7 installation that asks which drive I want to install the OS on, it does not show the Intel X-25M. It will show my other drives, however. If I unplug the other drives, it just shows a blank window instead of showing the Intel X-25M.

This defeats the whole purpose of adopting this format. Avoid getting any M.2 SSD that uses SATA connection at all cost, you will not gain any speed advantage compared to the tradition 2.5 inch SSD hard drive.
