Mar 26, 2014 · The COM ports will only appear in the Device Manager when you have a USB device connected up and masquerading as a COM port. With Windows 8, when you connect up the USB cable and the MK USB adapter, the appropriate drivers should be loaded automatically and you should hear the windows "bong bing" tone to indicate that the device has been installed.

I do know for sure that, in most cases, installing a Windows 7 computer will involve a large investment in terms of the third party s/w and h/w. Jul 23, 2015 · Can anyone provide insight on support for virtual COM ports in Windows 10 RTM (10240)? I'm unable to work with my devices that utilize virtual COM ports (they work in 8.1) and I've been told the RTM is limited with no support for virtual COM ports.
