Jul 25, 2011 · Just for fun I downloaded Windows Movie Maker 2.6 to see if that worked any better, and despite being a lot slower than my vista version (version 6. something), it ironically works with the WMV files. However due to its sluggish speeds and lack of HD output this isn't a viable option.
