Apr 30, 2014 · It is JAVA I am looking for as the app requires J2ME to run - the app has been created on iOS, Android and Blackberry without the need for JAVA. They do not seem to have developed it properly for Windows 8 Mobile though - they have the app but when you run it on a Windows phone it says it requires JAVA to run.

Windows Phone doesn't support Java in any way. Windows Phone only "executes" xap files and XNA files in any version (7.0 or higher). No way to run Java in Windows Phone. Isn't useful, too.

Feb 12, 2014 · No, you have no Dalvik VM to run Android Apps. Also, WP8.1 does not support Java. It supports javascript and that is a totally different language.

Microsoft Windows 8 does not support plug-ins in the Start screen and therefore Java will not run in the Start screen. You will have to switch to the Desktop screen to run Java. Windows 8 is officially supported with the release of Java 7 Update 10. Java will only be supported in Desktop screen.
