Feb 26, 2008 · Best Answer: In a word, no. XP can ADDRESS a maximum of 4 GB of RAM, but that address space also includes all onboard PCI devices, such as your video card. In order to be able to talk to those devices, XP must ignore the upper 512 MB of your 4 GB of RAM.

Windows XP might not be able to read that much amount of RAM but still I had seen many people using the same in a 64bit system. The virtual address limit lies to 4GB. There is a 3GB switch which allows the application to utilize full ram.
