Jan 23, 2013 · The XBOX 360 does support full HD in 1080p. May I ask which forum you saw this in? The only way to get the full 1080p experience is by using an HDMI cable to connect your XBOX 360 to your television. The HDMI cable will transmit both audio and video through one cord, so there is no need to match colors ever again.

Not only is it supported, but, when I tried to compare 1080p transmitted to the same monitor via VGA vs. HDMI, I really could not tell any noticeable difference. This may not be true for all monitors (depending on their D-to-A converters). There was an extra step to get VGA configured just right.

Jan 06, 2009 · Have just checked the tv documentation and the VGA input does/should support 1080p, so assuming the Xbox does indeed output 1080p via VGA I just need to find a cable that support 1080p. I would get the official cable but the documentation for it states it only supports up to 720p, although there are some reports on the web that think it infact goes upto 1080i.

I also have the vga cable and in the system setting I can't choose 1440x900, but I can choose 1080p. Does this mean that the xbox doesn't support my native resolution? It looks really bad.

Mar 15, 2008 · That doesn't support 1080p over VGA either, so he had it over component at 1080i (he claimed 1080p didn't work over component either, didn't check myself). 720p via VGA on my crusty old Sammy looks miiiiiles better! Be a different story if he had an Elite at 1080p via HDMI of course.

Probably 1024x768, but you can mess with the settings yourself once you get the cable. Here's the thing- I am getting a 360 and I dug up my old CRT monitor that has a native resolution of 1600 x 1200. I plan to get the vga cable to tide me over until I can buy a native 1080p monitor with HDMI input.
https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/console/tv-resolutions
1080p is the most common resolution for movies, TV, gaming, and many of the experiences that Xbox One has to offer. A 1080p television makes no compromises in image quality, so you can enjoy content like Blu-ray movies at their intended resolution. Each line of pixels on the screen is redrawn 60 times a second or faster.

Sep 27, 2006 · Consequently, only a few 1080p capable HDTVs support 1080p signals via Component connections, which are generally restricted to 1080i. A few more 1080p HDTVs will accept an analog 1080p signal via VGA, but often only with the addition of a VGA-to-DVI dongle.

Apr 20, 2008 · I have driven a 1680x1050 display with a VGA cable, so I imagine it could handle a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD 1920x1080p signal. However, as Pressure noted, if the content is protected by HDCP (and it should be), since VGA does not support that standard, it will not display the signal at full-resolution (I believe it halves it to 960 x 540).
