Right click on the icon, select 'Compatibility', tick Run this program in compatibility mode for...and start with XP. If that doesn't work, move down the line. Or conversely, you can just tick 'Run in 640x480 screen resolution to see it that at least gets the game to run.

May 13, 2016 · Game loads "windowed" but I can't fullscreen it. So, have the latest drivers installed, game runs in the top left corner of the game. Resolution says it's what windows is running at, I change it to various things and it never actually changes its size.

Is there a way to change what size the game is in windowed mode? because my options for gameplay are either fullscreen, which is very low res, or tiny window mode (only about 2.5 inches) but a good res. Ive heard about various source ports or something that might help. I know very little about all of this. >_<

No known issues. - It has to draw a lot of pixels! This is taxing for a software renderer, even on a modern machine.

When doom was first released, it was designed for MSDOS (Microsoft disk operating system). This worked fine until Windows XP was released. After XP was released, you could download DOS emulators such as DOSBox to be able to run it. This will most likely repair it, but I am not making any promises. If that does not work, try googling it.
