I'm trying to find a way to run an old Dos based application that uses a printer connected to the parallel port, I don't think Dosbox supports lpt. I am interested both in using that printer and in trying to emulate the printer somehow and connect a USB based printer.

Apr 01, 2014 · i select my printer, hit okay, nothing happens. if i run the command again, nothing happens at all. i have to close DOSbox, re open it, re run my dir command before the printer box will open. it;s like ti is getting hung on something. net use with in DOSbox is an illegal command.

Sep 05, 2015 · Printer emulation code was ported into DOSBox-X within the last few months from the Daum SVN branch. I still envision an interface though to allow DOSBox-X to spawn a subprocess that uses STDIN/STDOUT to send/receive parallel port status and emulate a printer.
