Sep 28, 2013 · Supporting the keyboard was quite easy. The auto-detection logic using the « Request device information [0x01] » command was already in place since I added mouse support. I was expecting I would have to create a keycode translation table, but no, the Dreamcast keyboard uses the same codes a normal PC keyboard does! Compare for yourself:

As well as controllers, Demul supports some other peripherals that were available for the Dreamcast, namely Keyboards, Light Guns and Mice. Light gun emulation is not something we’ve tested yet, but keyboard and mouse should work for games which support that option. As for peripherals, you can chose “VMS”, “VMU” or “PURUPURU”.

Aug 19, 2018 · Here is what one of the adapters looks like with an IBM keyboard and logitech PS/2 laser mouse. I do own an official Dreamcast mouse however, and meh, it is nothing like modern optical mice but it gets the job done way better than the official controller for FPS games.
