Since this service they use developed it process at a time before there were such a thing as XML standards and have flat out refused to update their method, all the example XSLT scripts just plain don't work.

Hi, I've successfully imported the "Growing Flowers" example from the DITA sample files that come with oXygen using the DITA XHTML to Simple HTML XSLT template.The DITA XML files have been transformed to XHTML for importing.

But I think part of the answer is that there isn't a good implementation of XSLT 2.0 written in C or C++, in the way that libxslt (the backend of xsltproc) and Xalan exist for XSLT 1.0. It's not my intention to start a language war, but for better or worse, most browsers are written in C or C++.

May 24, 2006 · XSLT is a very cool and powerful beast once you learn how to talk to it. The mistake many people make is trying to treat it as a programming language. It isn't. It's a templating/transformation language with functional programming concepts (think ML). If you're converting one XML stream into another XML stream, XSLT is just what you need.
