Put TV/Monitor in desired mode then go to setting for that mode. Test sound output from computer while in that mode.

    Jun 20, 2012 · There is more then just the physical shape that is different. HDMI does not have the pinouts for VGA compatibily (could be the pins carrying Audio for the NV/ATI cards). DVI does not support anything beyond RGB colour model whereas HDMI does. Last but not least, it does not support Audio packets.
