Dec 07, 2016 · ALL the people that had ECC reported as "On" were using proper Workstation/Server setups: Processors with ECC Support (Pentiums, Core i3 or Xeons), a C Series Chipset, and ECC RAM. Point is, I recall hearing somewhere else that you NEED a Q or C Series Chipset to use ECC at all (It should POST and work with the ECC RAM, but ECC should go unused).

Ryzen/AM4 ECC memory support? Community

Mar 02, 2017 · The chipset does not have any direct say in ECC support, the memory controller is inside the CPU. All AMD desktop CPUs since the Newcastle Athlon 64, including all Semprons, and all APUs since Trinity have supported ECC as far as I know. (Brazos and Llano didn't.) Just the FM2/FM2+ socket was not ECC capable because it lacked the necessary pins.Reviews: 12

intel - Do Kaby Lake Pentiums support ECC? - Server Fault

    https://serverfault.com/questions/843551/do-kaby-lake-pentiums-support-ecc
Looking at setting up a SOHO server with a C236 Chipset and ECC RAM and wondering about the CPU to use. Skylake Pentiums (e.g., the G4400) support ECC, but prior to Kaby Lake's release, news outlets reported that ECC support was removed. Looking at Intel's ARK for e.g., the Pentium G4600, ECC is listed as supported, but ARK has been wrong before.
