DSCP-based QoS is not automatically honored for routed and switched traffic. The default is 802.1p to CoS mapping. To honor DSCP-based QoS, you must either use an ACL or enable trust DSCP. . When DSCP marking is enabled, the device changes the contents of the inbound packet ToS field to match the DSCP-based QoS value.

As per above, it seems that existing acl will not follow the dscp remarking value if the dscp remarking value is changed, only those acl defined AFTER dscp remarking value changed will follow the action modifier to do the remark using the new value.

Mailing List Archive: internal DSCP

The point is, if you remark DSCP on ingress, an egress ACL will not match on the remarked DSCP without first recirculating the packet. Regardless of that, the remarked DSCP (or derived COS) will definitely be used to map the packet to an egress port queue and that remarked DSCP will be carried in the final packet. Hope that helps, Tim
