Aug 01, 2008 · At this point apache was still using the php 4 install and the shell was using the compiled php 5 install. The compiled php 5 install does have DOM support (enabled by default in php 5) but the php 4 install that apache can see is still not DOM enabled.

Oct 30, 2010 · A little searching suggests that on CentOS specifically, you need to make sure that the php-dom and php-xml packages are both installed before the dom extension can be used. Perhaps that is causing your issue?
